About
Sumya Akter is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Northern University Bangladesh with over three years of teaching experience, and she also serves as a volunteered Research Assistant at the Neuro-Analytics Lab, New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA. Her research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Brain Signal Analysis, and Health Informatics, with publications in leading journals such as MDPI Sensors, Computers in Biology and Medicine, Journal of Biomedical Informatics, and IEEE/Scopus-indexed conferences. Beyond teaching and research, she contributes to global academic service as a co-chair for the Cognitive Information Systems mini-track at the American Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) 2025, while also playing an active role in institutional development as the Cultural Convener, organizing departmental and central events, and leading multiple official committees for the benefit of her department. Her journey embodies the essence of UAP’s alumni, reflecting a commitment to research, teaching, leadership, and innovation while serving as an inspiration for the next generation of computing professionals through her unwavering dedication to academic excellence, institutional advancement, and the integration of co-curricular enrichment into holistic education.
