Purpose of the Admission Process
UAP’s admission screening aims to:

  • Select the most deserving students for each department

  • Help applicants identify their strengths and choose the right career path

  • Maintain a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection system

  • Build a classroom culture where students are motivated, capable, and collaborative

Admission Timeline

Spring Semester
July – December

Fall Semester
January – June

Detailed dates are always published beforehand in the Academic Calendar on the UAP website.

Admission Tests

  • Generally, two admission tests are held per semester, one month apart

  • Applicants may sit for only one test (exceptions considered after review)

  • Tests are held within the two-month window before the semester begins

  • Schedules are announced in newspapers and on the UAP website (Notice section)

Test Mode:
Written Exam

After the Test
The admission office will guide selected applicants in completing further procedures.

English Language Requirement
Applicants with lower English proficiency may be required to complete an ELPC (English Language Proficiency Course) before or during the semester.

Admission for Credit Transfer Students

  • Transfer applications are reviewed case-by-case

  • Must meet previous results requirements and may need to sit for an admission test

Minimum transferable GPA:

  • Theory Courses: C

  • Programming Labs: B

  • Must complete at least 50% of total credits at UAP to earn the degree

  • A study gap of more than 2 years requires direct contact with the admission office

  • Students rusticated from previous institutions for disciplinary reasons are ineligible

Admission for International Students

International applicants must show readiness to study in a new cultural environment.

Requirements include:

  • All documents translated into English and legally attested

  • Submission of special documents (e.g., portfolio, recommendation) if requested

  • Possible interview via online video call

Admission Criteria (B.Sc. in CSE)

Minimum GPA Requirement

SSC + HSC: Total GPA of 7.50

O-Level + A-Level: Total GPA of 7.50
(Minimum: GPA 2.5 in 5 O-Level subjects + 2 A-Level subjects)

Subject Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Physics & Mathematics in HSC (or equivalent)

  • Chemistry in SSC or HSC (or equivalent)

Special Notes

  • Admit cards must be collected from the UAP Admission Office

  • All admission notices & exam schedules are available both offline and on the website

  • Diploma graduates (CGPA ≥ 3.0) may apply only to the relevant department
    (e.g., Computer Diploma → CSE)

HSC Appeared Students

  • Must have SSC GPA ≥ 4.00

  • Final admission depends on meeting minimum HSC requirements

Study Gap

  • Up to 2 years accepted (except Pharmacy)

  • Pharmacy allows 1-year gap

Any mismatch between submitted and original documents will result in cancellation of admission.

Admission Criteria for M.Sc. in CSE (MCSE)

Academic Requirements

  • Minimum one 1st Class / 1st Division in academic history

  • At least 50% marks or CGPA 2.50 (out of 4.00) in B.Sc. Engineering

  • No record of 3rd Division/Class in any public examination

Admission Test / Viva

  • Admission is finalized with the approval of the Head of the Department

  • Applicants may be required to attend a viva voce or evaluation, depending on departmental policy
