A Heartfelt Thank You to Prof. Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Asia Pacific, extends its heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud as he successfully concludes his tenure as Head of the Department (July 18, 2022 – July 17, 2026).

Over the past four years, his leadership has played a significant role in advancing the department across academics, research, infrastructure, and student development. Some of the notable achievements during his headship include:

* Strengthening UAP CSE's national and international presence through major competitive programming initiatives, including the successful hosting of the ICPC World Finals Dhaka 2022 and the introduction of the ICPC-JRC Scholarship.

* Establishing state-of-the-art laboratories, including the Artificial Intelligence Lab, Robotics Lab, Cyber Security Lab, Data Science & Machine Learning Lab, and the Research & Innovation Lab.

* Modernizing departmental infrastructure with upgraded computing facilities, improved networking, enhanced laboratories, and better learning and working environments for students and faculty.

* Promoting academic excellence through seminars, workshops, Olympiads, research initiatives, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) activities.

* Reviving the department's cultural tradition through the publication of the fourth edition of Oboyob while fostering a vibrant academic community.

* Supporting the continued growth of the department, reflected in increased student enrollment and an expanding ecosystem for teaching, research, and innovation.

We sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud for his dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment throughout his tenure as Head of the Department. His leadership has helped shape the continued growth and success of UAP CSE, and we look forward to his ongoing contributions to our academic community.

We wish him continued success, good health, and many more achievements in the years ahead.
