National IT Competition 2026 for Youth with Disabilities
𝗨𝗔𝗣 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦
University of Asia Pacific (UAP) proudly hosted the National IT Competition 2026 for Youth with Disabilities on 1 August 2026. Organized by the ICT Division and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, UAP, the 10th edition of this landmark event reinforced the nation’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, and digital empowerment for all.
The program was graced by the presence of Mr. Faqir Mahbub Anam, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, as the chief guest. Special guests in attendance included Mr. M. M. Mozibul Hoque, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), UAP; Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, UAP; and Mr. Khandakar Zahurul Alam, Executive Director, Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID). The event was chaired by Ms. Nahid Sultana Mallik, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
A total of seventy competitors participated in this year's competition across four distinct categories, with twenty-one competitors in the visually impaired category, twenty-five in the physically disabled category, fifteen in the speech and hearing impaired category, and nine in the neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD) category. After rigorous evaluation, a total of twelve winners were awarded prizes across the four categories. Md. Shakil Mia won the visually impaired category, Sheikh Yamin Ahsan won the physically disabled category, Nahin Siraj won the speech and hearing impaired category, and Aryan Islam won the neurodevelopmental disorder category.
As a result of their outstanding performances, the four category winners have earned the prestigious opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the Global IT Competition for Youth with Disabilities, scheduled to take place in Vietnam this upcoming October.
The program concluded successfully, marking another significant milestone in UAP's ongoing dedication to fostering an inclusive technological ecosystem and nurturing the extraordinary talents of youth with disabilities.
