Nippon AI Dojo 2026 Concludes at UAP; UAP CSE Team Emerges Group 1 Champion

Dhaka, 30 September 2026: The Nippon AI Dojo 2026 Final Presentation and Closing Ceremony was held at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), marking the successful completion of an industry-oriented artificial intelligence training and human resource development programme jointly organized by CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, Japan, and AI SAMURAI JAPAN, with the support of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

The programme was conducted in collaboration with University of Asia Pacific, BRAC University, and North South University, with each university independently receiving approximately 300 applicants.

At UAP, approximately 300 CSE students applied in the initial phase. Following a rigorous screening process, 70 students were shortlisted, from whom 30 were selected by CHOWA GIKEN Corporation after further evaluation. Following a challenging written examination and subsequent assessment, the final 10 UAP CSE participants were selected. They then underwent approximately three months of intensive technical training and on-the-job training (OJT) under industry guidance.

In the final stage, 10 participants from each university—30 in total—formed six teams, with two teams representing each university. After presenting their AI-based solutions, the UAP CSE team emerged as the Champion of Group 1, while a team from BRAC University won Group 2.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for UAP’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), demonstrating the students’ technical expertise, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving ability, and readiness to work in an industry-oriented environment.

The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from the Government of Bangladesh, the Embassy of Japan, JICA, JETRO, CHOWA GIKEN Corporation, AI SAMURAI JAPAN, and the participating universities.  Hon’ble Members of the Board of Trustees of UAP, Acting VC of UAP, Dean of Engineering UAP, Head and faculties of CSE UAP, delegates from various universities, including the University of Dhaka (DU), Daffodil International University (DIU), United International University (UIU), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), and East West University (EWU), as well as officials, students, and members of the UAP community were also present at the event. The event featured final presentations, certificate and award distribution, and remarks from distinguished guests highlighting the importance of AI, youth skills development, innovation, and Bangladesh-Japan collaboration.

The success of UAP CSE in Nippon AI Dojo 2026 reflects the university’s continued commitment to industry-focused education, technological innovation, and developing future-ready graduates capable of contributing to Bangladesh’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
