“Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has become increasingly significant in the era of digitalization, creating new professional opportunities and contributing to national development,” said Mr. Shaikh Rabiul Alam, Honorable Minister for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Ministry of Shipping, and Ministry of Railways, and Honorable Member of Parliament.

He made the remarks while attending the UAP CSE Career Workshop and Job Fair 2026 as the Chief Guest on Sunday, October 11, 2026, organized by the UAP CSE Alumni Association (UAPCSEAA) to support the career development of final-year students and recent graduates.

In his speech, the Minister noted that CSE had not received the same level of recognition and importance in the past as it does today. With the rapid advancement of digital technologies, however, the discipline has become increasingly important in shaping career opportunities and supporting national progress. Appreciating the initiative, he said the workshop and job fair would help students and recent graduates prepare for the job market. He also emphasized that individuals should look beyond personal aspirations and recognize their responsibilities towards society and the country, noting that collective progress and social welfare are essential to building a better future.

Mr. K. M. Mozibul Hoque, Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), UAP, attended the program as the Special Guest. In his remarks, he described the initiative as an important platform for students and graduates to explore career opportunities and prepare for professional challenges. He emphasized the role of alumni engagement in strengthening connections between current students and graduates, sharing practical experiences, providing career guidance, expanding professional networks, and supporting the next generation of professionals.

The UAP CSE Career Workshop and Job Fair 2026 aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by connecting students and graduates with prospective employers. The initiative also sought to provide insights into career pathways, workplace expectations, and professional development, helping participants better understand the skills and competencies required in the evolving job market.

Professor Dr. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, Acting Vice-Chancellor, UAP; Professor Dr. G. R. Ahmed Jamal, Dean, School of Engineering, Professor Dr. Nasima Begum, Head, CSE, faculty members, and distinguished representatives from UAP and relevant professional sectors also attended the program.

Through this initiative, the University of Asia Pacific reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing graduate employability, fostering meaningful alumni engagement, and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to support students' professional growth and contribute to national development.
